How's it going now
Two changes have been instigated by the Tauranga City Council and the Commissioners recently.
1/ Lowered Speed limits on some major streets.
2/ The New rubbish system.
Many locals were very vocal about these changes, however now they are settled in what have we really found ?
For me:
The traffic seems more peaceful at the lowered speeds and roads easier to cross when a pedestrian.
Their seems to be many less trucks on Rubbish Day and that must reflect in the road wear over time. However dodging rubbish trucks is still an issue on those days.

As reported in The Post, the University of Waikato is planting roots in Tauranga as it works on “ambitious plans” to grow its Durham St campus. The goal? To see Tauranga recognised as a true “university city.”

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
