As we progress into the 21st century, people have become a little bolder and braver in talking about what was once a taboo subject. Death has come out of the closet and people are now wanting to confront the subject from all possible angles. No longer shy or diffident, there is a desire and need to talk about a host of issues that surround what has been described as the extreme event in life.
This discussion group caters for those who wish to explore the question of death with a range of prepared topics each week for open forum discussion. Come with your own questions and experiences and opinions on matters that touch the heart of the human condition.

‘Devastated and disappointed’ - former students hope it wasn’t one of their own
Former students of Taupō Nui-a-Tia College say they’re “devastated” and “disappointed” after the alleged arson at their school which has left an entire block of classrooms, and a health centre destroyed by fire.
Emergency services were called to the school about 2.15pm on Sunday, when plumes of black smoke could be seen across town.

Once touted as an anglers paradise, and a top water-sport playground on the Waikato River, Mangakino is in danger of becoming a ghost town as toxic algal blooms slowly suck the life out of its main attraction - Lake Maraetai.
Locals say cyanobacterial algal blooms in the river’s hydro lakes have become more frequent over the past five years, and when they arrive no-one can swim or fish in them.

The property in Woodcock Rd - notable for having a hydroslide in the back yard - the scene of now-disproved alleged sexual offending by Hamilton dentist Rahul Gautam - made headlines more than 15 years ago, when it was a focus in the case of accountant Gary Soffe.
