Community planting day success
A big thanks to everyone who attended our community planting day at Waiāri treatment plant on Saturday. Mānuka, Kawakawa, Harakeke and other natives were planted on site to enhance the environment for future years.
Commissioners Bill Wasley and Shad Rolleston joined in and said the event was a great opportunity for the community to get involved.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Wanted, chunky blocks of wood/offcuts no smaller than 10cm X 10cm, steel rods for an art installation. Example in image...
Hi neighbours, I am an artist and I am looking for chunky blocks of wood, offcuts, any wood but must be chunky , minimum 10cm cubed or larger. They don't need to be perfect, irregular shapes will be fine, any type of wood. Also I need steel rods.... eg: refer to image .
