The project involves a new 1500 square metre building, housing outpatients, primary health services run by Ngāti Hine Health Trust, renal services, oncology and haematology.
But costs for the project have doubled since 2018, mostly due to existing buildings not being fit-for-purpose.
Ardern said the redevelopment was essential to deliver services closer to where people live, including to help address inequities in Māori health. What do you think?
