Cat hit by a car on Normans Road
I just witnessed a cat being hit by a car. The driver stopped and I helped him locate the cat as it had scuttled into the STAC playground. We put it in his car and he said he was going to take it to the vet. The cat was alert but had possibly broken its back. It’s a beautiful black cat with green eyes. Sorry if it’s yours.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
