Sunday Street Cleaning

Vina from Mount Roskill

Big thank you to four new kaitiakis at Earth Action street clean on 16 May 2021 at Wesley, Mt Roskill. Picked up 33 kgs of litter of which 60% should go to recyclable and compostable.

Two encouragements received which fattens the heart of kaitiakis: 1) Pacific boy about to go to church and said ‘thank you for looking after our environment’ and 2) an Indian fellow with litter in front of his property and said ‘don’t pick that up, we will sort it’

As they say ‘Every LITTER bit counts. Email vina.chen@earthactiontrust.org.nz your availability, if you are keen to join any our street cleaning on

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
