Freshly baked German bread for Friday 21st May

Viola from Taupo Central

Good morning neighbours!

I am baking this coming Friday, 21st May.
Graving a pure sourdough loaf made from a mixture of wholemeal and New Zealand rye flour, or feeling sweet and wanting a fruit loaf with loads of dried fruit and peanuts soaked in rum and brown sugar ??
How about a wholemeal grainy loaf with sunflowers seeds, or pumpkin seeds, or walnuts?
I also offer a gluten- and keto-friendly loaf which is my Seedlings loaf.

Order by either phone or text to 021 0252 1343 by latest Thursday 20th, 4pm.

I only bake on order, so usually, I do not have loaves spare to sell.
I deliver right after baking to your door Friday morning, so the loaves are fresh and still warm from the oven. Prices include delivery within Taupo township and I usually take cash on delivery.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Wild weather in the Waikato

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Waikato really copped it over the weekend, with wild weather leaving a hefty clean-up bill that may run into the millions.

While things are looking calmer in the days ahead, there are still plenty of slips and flooded roads across the district — so if you’re heading out, take it easy and stay alert.

We want to know: How did you and your whānau get on over the weekend?

Want to see what recovery will look like from here? The Waikato Times has the latest.
