Wellington Street Beach Warning
Be careful when walking to the right hand side of the Wellington St Beach in Ham East.
On Saturday the river was quite low and I started noticing rusty nails in and around the waters edge to the right of the Wellington Street Beach.
After filling up a catering sized coffee bag (thanks Hayes Common) I went home and got a bucket and filled that with more metal and glass items that were just buried under the surface in the same area.
From the rusty colour of the water I suspect I only touched the surface of the issue. Its disturbing considering what is buried is normally covered in water and leaching into our river :( I've contacted the council but had no reply yet
