New lanes and lower speed on State Highway 20
Commuters to Auckland airport will have to slow down next month when a reduced speed limit rolls out on state highway 20.
New priority lanes for buses and cars carrying three or more people will also be added.
The 100km/h speed limit will drop to 60km/h from the Manukau Memorial Gardens to 300 metres west of Orrs Road.
The new bus lanes between Pukaki Creek Bridge and the state highway 20 interchange will support electric buses running between the airport, Puhinui rail and bus interchange and Manukau.
Cars with three or more occupants can use the bus/ T3 priority lanes to ease congestion.
