New in-house blood lab

Hamilton Small Animal Veterinary Centre

🔬🧑‍🔬We are very excited to share with you our new IDEXX LAB that we now have fully installed at our clinic. Our vets and nurses have spent the last couple of weeks in training and are ready to go!🥽🔬

❤️What this means for you our clients and patients:

🐈Quick turnaround time for receiving results of blood tests. This is especially important in more severe illness where further treatment is required and decisions need to be made quickly depending on results.

🐕‍🦺The ability to run blood tests at the weekend when the lab is closed.

🐈The opportunity to carry out pre-anaesthetic bloods on your pet the morning of their surgical or dental procedure. This may find hidden health issues, ensure there are no increased risks from anaesthetic and optimise safety for your precious pets.

🐩Health check blood tests, especially as your pet gets older; or if they are on a certain medication.

🐈‍⬛Our Biochemistry Machine can detect any abnormalities in the liver, kidney, thyroid, electrolytes and protein, while red and white blood cell abnormalities can be detected with our Haematology Machine.😀

❤️We are thrilled to bring you this latest technology that will make getting test results to you easier and more efficient!❤️

What's your favourite piece of Waikato history?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Car parks inspired a milking shed design that took off around the world and became a piece of Waikato District history.

A hundred-year-old church and gravestones from the 1880s will also feature as the district turns the spotlight on its past for its first Heritage Day on April 20.

Do you think the city needs more affordable housing projects?

The Team Reporter from Hamilton Press

An affordable rental development has been left scrambling to secure funding after it was unexpectly turned down by central government.

Bridge Housing Trust plans to build a 42 apartment complex on the corner of Tristram and Liverpool Streets in Hamilton central over two buildings. The land is being donated by Perry Group, which currently owns both sites.
