New $44m library project proposed for Nelson
A proposal has been recommended to council to build a new $44m library at the corner of Halifax and Trafalgar St - replacing the old Elma Turner Library which has been on Halifax St since 1989.
Council will meet on Thursday to discuss the proposal, along with four other renovation and rebuild possibilities.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
