Wetland Open Day - only once a year - with market and guided walks

Matuku Link joins World Wetland Day, with a host of activities on Saturday 13rd of February from 10 am to 3 pm. Market, stalls, food, coffee, walks, talks… the opportunity to see the changes since we bought the property in 2016 and have spend over ten thousand volunteer hours improving the place. All free and all welcome.

Try to find one of our wandering Pateke (brown teal) or spot a secretive banded rail or even our namesake Matuku (bittern), or join one of our guided tours on bugs, birds, eels or flora & fauna.

All day market with gifts, food, art, crafts, information and entertainment from Forest & Bird Waitakere, Birds New Zealand, The Entomological Society, Whitebait Connection, Kauri Rescue, Auckland Council Biodiversity, Auckland Zoo, PestFreeWaitakereRangesAlliance (PFWRA), Sustinnoworkx sustainable produces, Serenity— candles & soaps, Christine Rose Ceramics, Mama Soto— liniments & infusions, Sue Beesley’s Honey, Bethells Beanz coffee, home baking, BBQ— vegan and meat.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
