A slightly different Christmas song

Oliver Neighbourly Lead from One Tree Point

We better watch out
We better not fly
We better not doubt
The scientists' cry
Climate change is coming to town

They have made a list
Checked it more than twice
And what's on that list
Is not really nice
Climate change is coming to town

It looks like we've been sleeping
And haven't been awake
It looks like we've been pretty bad
So let's change for goodness sake!

We better not bitch
We better not moan
We better not whinge
Or grumble or groan
Climate change is flooding the town

The Arctic is in meltdown
And Santa lost his base
He's now a climate refugee
And looking for a space

We better not put
Our heads in the sand
The matter has gotten
Well out of hand
Climate change is wearing us down

We love to drive our guzzlers
Don't care about EVs
And all our money paid for gas
Is going overseas

We better retreat
We better adapt
We better make sure
Emissions are capped
Climate change is bucketing down

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
