Short-term: Support Volunteer

Short-term volunteer role:
We are searching for someone to be a Support Volunteer for a person with a disability who would like to volunteer at Selmes Garden over the summer break.
This would be 9am - 12 noon on either Monday or Wednesday
No gardening knowledge or experience necessary but it will help.
Volunteers at Selmes will work alongside volunteers/workers with disabilities, providing support and encouragement.

Selmes Garden Trust provides a safe place for people with intellectual disabilities to work and volunteer.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
