Dear Neighbours, We are producing a non for profit book: Our Place - Stories of Local Life. Devonport 2020. The book features roughy 50 profiles of people and places that make Devonport so special but against the background of this unprecedented year. 100% of proceeds from the book to go back into our local community to the Well Foundation; the charitable arm and the official charity of Waitematā DBH to support the essential workers at He Puna Waiora, the mental health unit near North Shore Hospital.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
