Marines Hall ideas wanted
Titahi Bay residents will this week have a chance to have a say on memoralising the historic Marines Hall.
The council is looking for ideas to recognise the history of the hall, which was closed in 2012 when it was a deemed a public safety risk due to severe structural issues. In 2018 Porirua City Council unanimously voted to support demolishing the hall, built by US Marines in 1942.
Residents this week have two opportunities to meet with council staff (outside the hall) to discuss ideas to recognise its history.
* Wednesday 23 September, 3-5pm
* Saturday 26 September, 1.30-3.30pm.
