Low Cost Microchipping for Cats

Mary from Otaki District

Forgotten Felines Foundation will be holding a low cost microchip event!
For $20 residents of Horowhenua can get their cats chipped and registered on NZCAR database.

Appointments must be made via Forgotten Felines at www.forgottenfelines.org.nz...
Payments to be made in advance via internet banking. If you are not able to make payment via internet banking, please contact us for other options.

Event will be held at Levin PetShop (31 Oxford Street, Levin). Please do not contact the store, if you have questions, please contact Forgotten Felines via message or email info@forgottenfelines.co.nz

Sunday 27th 9am-4pm
Monday 28th 10am-3pm

Future dates and locations in Kapiti will be announced soon.

Microchipped animals are able to be reunited with their owners much quicker than those that aren’t. On average 85% of microchipped animals are able to be reunited within 2 hours of them being scanned.

Some councils have already mandated microchipping, including Wellington and Palmerston North. Now is the time to have your cat chipped for low cost, before any bylaws come into place in Horowhenua area.

Can't make the event but still need your cat chipped ? Contact us for details.

We also could use volunteers for the event. Especially to help with admin/paperwork and cat handling.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
