Devonport: Architecture of Land & Sea Art Exhibition

The Team from Depot Artspace

For many of us, these last few months have had us hanging out in our neighbourhoods, often discovering details we had never noticed before...even after years of habitation.

In Devonport: Architecture of Land and Sea, artist Martin Law Painter of Paradise has taken attentiveness to a whole new level. His paintings are an exquisite, almost microscopically, observed tribute to Devonport, its history, environment and architecture. Each element is of singular note, but forms a whole, a narrative of a community, its development through time in a landscape – whenua overlooked by its two Maunga Takarunga and Maungauika.

On display from September 5th - October 14 in the Main Gallery, artist Martin Law will also be on-hand at Depot Artspace every Sunday over the duration of the exhibition.

Hope to see you there and do share your special stories & memories of any of the location in the works with us!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
