COVID-19 UPDATE
With today's move to Alert Level 2 for most of Aotearoa/NZ, we would like to tell you all that the VM office will remain open and our staff will still be working from the office between 10am and 2pm every weekday.
If you would like to visit us, we do ask that you consider if you have Covid-19 symptoms or if you may have been in contact with someone who has the virus. If you have, please call or email us before coming in.
For volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations, these are the recommended guidelines:
> Virtual/online/phone volunteering is the safest option.
> However, other volunteering can continue with physical distancing and health & safety precautions in place.
> Volunteer training can continue as long as there are no more than 100 people gathered.
If you have any questions or concerns about volunteering (or involving volunteers in your organisation's work) during Level 2, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
You can send us a direct message, call 03 577 9388, or email vm@volunteermarlborough.org.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
0% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
0% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
0% ... It is complicated

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.
We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
-
9.6% For. Self-service is less frustrating and convenient.
-
43.4% I want to be able to choose.
-
47% Against. I want to deal with people.
