Bobby Calf Rescue

Kris from Woodend

Bobby Calf Rescue! Help needed - Please Share - It's that time of the year again... well, in New Zealand anyway. Unwanted baby calves are being sent to slaughter and it's happening right now. I've got the first arrival this week (4 days old) and it's hard to choose which ones are going to come home and to leave the others behind... We could do with a bit of help - calf milk powder, bottles and teats, covers, straw and hay.. we are based in Woodend and drop-offs would be absolutely amazing! I know we can't save them all but: “Whoever saves one life saves the world entire.” Quote - Schindler's List.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
