Stick to your bubble, not your couch!

Rachel from The Wood

Hi all, I have just moved to Nelson at the beginning of March and, despite current times, have enjoyed my daily exercise exploring my local area, the trees especially are exceptional- all different and turning for autumn.

I am working for New Zealand Red Cross and we have set up a virtual mission challenge where you walk 71km at your own pace and within government guidelines and you can follow your progress with views of Lake Taupo! Its a great way to keep your steps up and be part of a community.

You can check out more on this link, its a suggested $25 which goes towards helping the most vulnerable in communities and is a nice way to connect and stay active during this time: www.facebook.com... or www.myvirtualmission.com...

I cant wait until we are able to explore Nelson and the surrounding areas more after lockdown, its such a lovely part of the world

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
