Dry your fruit - offer

Creek from Naenae

Kia ora koutou,
These are some peaches from a fence overhang in Naenae that we've just dried. Been seeing a lot of fruit on trees around the place and had this idea. If you have a fruit tree in your back yard and would like to preserve what's on it, we'll dry it for you.
This can be done as a contactless thing: You just slice your fruit thinly (remove stones or cores first), bring it round in a container that you leave on our doorstep and txt to say it's there. We'll then put it in the dehydrator and txt to let you know when it's done and you can collect it.
Now, our dehydrator is old, like 1990s old, so we will not only be taking on the cost of running it but also the fire risk too lol.
If you want your fruit dried as part of your provisions for the coming weeks, giz a bell or txt on 0211882679. Or PM but I don't get on to messages as fast, txt or call is better.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!

Speed limits around NaeNae

Susan from Naenae

Hi Neighbors, Just a heads up, I have just received a $170 fine for driving at 50km on Rata Street Naenae on a SUNDAY Morning. I wrote to NZTA pointing out and sending in a photo of sign stating that it was 30km on school days between those hours, but they said that the whole of Rata Street and some surrounding streets are 30km 24/7 and have been for over a year. Did I miss this been advised by council? Always good to be informed. Merry Christmas to all
