COVID-19 swabbing clinic this weekend...

Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki

A dedicated community-based swabbing centre for COVID-19 is up and running in Thames and will be open in the weekends from 8.30am - 4.30pm.

The testing station will be run from the clinic of Thames health provider Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki in Richmond Street.

Dr Martin Mikaere, who is managing the swabbing centre, says the weekend swabbing centre clinic is for swabbing and testing for COVID-19 only.

Anybody who suspects they have COVID-19 must ring the clinic in advance (0800korowai - 0800 835 676) and further directions will be given thereafter.

People must not just turn up to the clinic.

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.

While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.

And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
