Wharf Street to undergo upgrade

Communications from Tauranga City Council

Upgrading Wharf Street is one step closer: Higgins will be our construction partner to undertake the works, commencing Monday, 23 March. Fear not, Wharf Street businesses remain open for business during construction and works will be temporarily paused for the annual National Jazz Festival Tauranga over Easter weekend.

Check out the artist impression and find out more about the upgrade at www.tauranga.govt.nz...

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
