Thames Heritage Festival 2020, with the theme ‘One Town, Many Tales’, takes place this weekend on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March at Bella Street Pump House, Thames Goldmine Experience, Historic Kōpū Bridge, Thames Small Gauge Railway, Thames School of Mines with Rock Shop & Mineral Museum, Thames Treasury - Archive & Research Centre, and Thames Museum. The events around these sites in Cochrane St, Queen St, Bella St and Brown St, and at Kōpū , include gold panning; 19th century gold mining machinery in action at the Goldmine Experience; talks and Q&A chats with experts; Russell Skeet’s guided Grahamstown walk and a leisurely stroll with storytelling on Historic Kōpū Bridge; small gauge train rides, music, pioneer days storyathon at Thames museum with Rosalie the Thames Storyteller and more. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
