Sending Money Overseas ? Traveling Frequently out of NZ ?

Piyush from Blockhouse Bay

Kia Ora Community Members,

(I am just sharing something which can benefit you all and believe me most of the people are not aware of this)

(1) if you are someone who is sending money overseas and using Banks (ANZ, BNZ, ASB, Westpac) or services like Wastern Union or MoneyGram etc, you can save lots of money by using an online service called (TransferWise), it's not a bank but a financial company which has a mission to help people save money with repatriation and international 💰 exchange.

(2) if you are going overseas for traveling, just carry TransferWise debit card and you should be sorted, no need to pay tons of money to currency exchange services. Also you can get best exchange rate and get money instantly from your NZ account into TransferWise and convert it at your will.

Just use their mobile app, which is very hand and you are done :-) Like any other financial services, you will have to do KYC (identity and address verification) before you transfer money.

Here is the link to install app and open your account - transferwise.com...

(I will appreciate if you can use my referral link for sharing this information, if you don't want to use my referral link then also its ok)

Any doubt ? Please feel free to post a question or comment.

- No need to go to bank
- Handy mobile app (for iPhone and Android users)
- Best exchange rate
- Best currency conversion rate
- Track the progress online
- See some examples I have attached from the app.
- If you use referral link above, you can save on fees for the transfer upto 500GBP.

Scam Alert: Bank cold calls

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

ASB is warning customers about reports of cold calls from scammers claiming to be from ASB. These scammers are trying to obtain personal information, including usernames, dates of birth, and verification codes sent to your mobile phone.

🛡️ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and you’re unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.

Remember, banks will:
❌ Never ask for your banking passwords, PINs, or verification codes
❌ Never need to know your full credit card number – especially the CVC
❌ Never ask you to download software or remotely access your device
❌ Never ask you to purchase gift cards or transfer funds.

If you have received a phone call and think your account has been compromised, call ASB on 0800 ASB FRAUD (0800 272 372), or visit your local branch.
