Queen Charlotte bike ride

Sergey from Nelson South

Anyone with an eMTB (electric mountain-bike) want to do the Queen Charlotte Trail before December 1st?

The plan is falling into place!
Friday 29 Nov – Drive to Picton and stay in cheap backpackers or other suitable accommodation.

Saturday 30 Nov – Take an early ferry (or water taxi) to Ship Cove and Bike to Portage – 50K

We’ve rented a cool place through Book a Bach that sleeps 4. There’s only two beds but there is space on the couch or floor for a reduced rate. 🙂

Sunday Dec 1 – Bike to Picton: 20K to Anakiwa (on QC Trail) and 20K (on road)

Drive back to Nelson in the afternoon

There is an opportunity to do a little more trail riding on the way from Anakiwa to Picton, depending on how much energy everyone has.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
