What do you think about the Government's school shake up?
Hi neighbours, does the Government's school shake up impact you? On Tuesday, the Education Minister released a review which recommends boards lose power to set zones, an independent panel be set up to handle disputes/suspensions, changes to board of trustees and principals and scrapping the "decile" system. Do you support these changes? What would you like to see?
Stamps wanted
I run a Stamp club at Tawa School to encourage children to collect stamps and learn about countries, history and more. Unfortunately new stamps aren't often seen these days as it's all electronic! If you have any stamps or old collections sitting around, let me know and I'll come and get them.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
