Our marine environment 2019 - MfE report
The Ministry for the Environment has released "Our marine environment 2019", the latest in their series of reports on the state of our environment.
"Our marine environment 2019" focuses on the four top issues that most need our attention in our oceans, seas, estuaries, and coastlines.
Citizen science regarding beach litter has been included in the report.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Warrant to arrest: Steven Te Maru Walters
Police are working to locate Steven Te Maru Walters, who has a warrant for his arrest and is wanted by Police.
Walters, 40, is wanted by Police in relation to breaching his release conditions and is known to frequent the Whangārei area. It’s believed he is actively avoiding Police.
