Local Body Elections
Those not voting in Local Body Elections for Wellington, there is an excellent debate on Stuff "Local elections 2019: Wellington's dwindling voter turnout for local body elections".
Rates will be increased to pay for various developments in the city, so best to put in your say for what you want!!
In my neck of the woods, I am delighted by the quick response, community engagement and immediate attention given to repairing and making fit for purpose, the walking track at the top of Woodhouse Avenue.
This is used by retired peoples walking clubs, dog walkers, runners, teenagers, people wanting to be with and appreciate the natural environment. Home also to the many bird species which have exceptional growth in numbers. Great work Andy Foster.

19/11/2024: southern Landfill Precinct of Wellington and C & D landfill
Wellington city has three landfills located in south Wellington / Happy Valley / Owhiro Bay. The WCC public landfill - Careys Gully / Southern Landfill - for residential and commercial waste. The second landfill is the T and T landfill, on Ohiro Road, which is privately owned and takes building waste. The third landfill (located above the WCC landfill) is called the C & D landfill which has filled its first valley with waste with access to a second valley for waste. It has recently changed hands and will likely resume operations soon.
