Hi neighbours - Wakame Fresh, a seaweed product company operating in the Coromandel, has been given $75,000 of funding to investigate the viability of turning seaweed into a high value export industry.
Agriculture Minister Damien O'Connor, after a bite of freshly caught seaweed, said "it was something that NZ had perhaps taken for granted".
