This is Letitia the Turkey. She was found at the Waimarama Community Gardens and has been hanging out with my chickens. She is desperate for some company as the chickens are a bit scared of her. Do you have a turkey or turkeys that she could come and live with? I am very fond of her – as are other visitors to the Gardens – but for her own well-being it would be better if she could be with her own kind. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
