Heavy snow watch in place for Wednesday
MetService has issued a heavy snow watch for Kaikoura ranges, Canterbury High Country and foothills, Central Otago, Southern Lakes and inland parts Southland.
Valid: 13 hours from 3:00am to 4:00pm Wednesday.
Forecast: Snow expected to fall to about 300 to 400m. Snow accumulations may approach Warning criteria about and above 600m.
An update for severe weather will be issued by 9:00pm Monday 29 Jul 2019.
