Nathan the Labrador

Don from Bayswater

Nathan is 7 yr old black Labrador presently in the Philippines the owners at the time living in N.Z. had entrusted the dog to a new owner who abandond him, he was picked up and was to be euthanised but a scan revealed a micro chip and an email address the original owners were contacted in the Philippines and the dog was then reunited. Now it is time to come home and the costs to get Nathan home are more than the owners can afford (penioners) mostly because of the prevelence of rabies etc. a quarantine period of 6 mths is required in Kuala Lumpur on the way home The cost all up is about $15000 and the give a little page seem to have stalled. I have given and i would ask those who can to help as Nathans predicament is not of his own doing and the alternative is not good . i do not know how to link the give a little page to here if anyone can help with that . Thank you all.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
