North East Valley Community Garden, Working Bee dates: June

Maria from North Dunedin

Hi Garden Friends
Working bees keep going over the winter months and there are always veges to take home and work to be done. We want to do a bit more on the pathways between the garden beds. We're still having new people turn up at working bees and attendance has been higher than last year. The fantails are around again and love sitting on the irrigation pipes while gardeners disturb the soil for them. Our gum boots and gardening gloves are getting lots of use so don't worry if you don't have your own. The warm autumn has meant that things have kept growing - including the weeds.
If there's heavy rain which looks set in, the working bee won't happen, but if there are just a few showers things go ahead and the tunnel house can provide welcome shelter and sometimes become the venue for morning or afternoon tea.

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
