Hearings Panel recommends proceeding with targeted rate
Akaroa ratepayers will pay a targeted rate from July to help fund the new Akaroa Community Health Centre if the recommendations of a Hearings Panel are adopted.
"The Hearings Panel considered more than 800 submissions from the public and the clear majority of them – nearly three-quarters – said they were prepared to pay a little extra in rates in order to secure health services and facilities for their community,’’ says Hearings Panel Chair Councillor Raf Manji.
