When is recycling NOT recycling?

Ana Maea Chitara from Newlands

NZ BE AWARE! Esp. Wellington region, but I bet others will follow or are already there.

Hutt Valley (upper and lower) will no longer accept plastics 3-7.
Porirua and Wellington are ALREADY sending most of them to landfill, from our recycling bins. (ok, some type 5 goes to Malaysia but we don't really know what happens then)
Kapiti won't say what it's doing with theirs.
That leaves plastics 1 and 2, eg milk bottles and soft drink types.
Ice cream containers, "reusable" takeaway containers, shampoo/cleaning bottles, bottle lids, almost all of it is now landfill.
We need to be more aware about our waste, not feel good 'cause it can be chucked in a recycling bin! :-(

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Buses can be a relaxing way to get home if you have a seat and enough space. However, it can be off-putting when someone is taking a phone call next to you.

Do you think it's inconsiderate for people to have lengthy phone calls on a bus? Vote in the poll, and add your comments below.
