Two men badly injured in Gisborne hit and run - witnesses sought

Police said the men were out walking and were seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle at around 6:15am on Centennial Marine Parade between the Millennium Wall and Pacific St.

- Police believe the vehicle was travelling along Centennial Marine Drive from the direction of the Gisborne Olympic Pool when the incident occurred.
- The vehicle will have damage to its front including the bonnet and window screen areas.

Members of the pubic that witnessed the crash, have information about this vehicle or that saw any vehicles travelling in the area at the time of the crash, are encouraged to come forward.

Anyone who has witnessed a vehicle with fresh damage is also encouraged to contact Police.

Members of the public are asked to contact Detective Mark Moorhouse at Gisborne Police on 06 831 0700.

Information can also be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
