Free laying chickens
UPDATE: we have had two offers for these chooks already, so thanks for your interest, but they have potentially been taken already!
Hi,
We have two chickens to go to a new home. They are about 2 and a half years old and laying about 10 eggs between them a week. One is a barnvelder (she has the gold feathering) and the other is an australorp (she's the dark colour, almost a paua shimmer in the light). They have never attempted to fly away and have never had their wings clipped. The barnevelder has a little sass and has pecked my kids once or twice, the australorp is a little shy and keeps out of your way. They are used to a backyard environment but i'm sure would adapt to having more friends around.
The little coop/moveable run in the background if free to you if you want it, but you don't have to take it. It was our first attempt and would probably need some modification to enable easier cleaning/access.
Feel free to ask any questions or come to see them.
Thanks,
Maria Donoghue
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.6% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.9% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.5% ... It is complicated
