A low is expected to move southeast across the upper North Island this afternoon and evening, and lie near East Cape late Saturday morning, bringing rain to much of the North Island. Mount Taranaki has now been added to this Watch.

Valid: 18 hours from 9:00am Friday to 3:00am Saturday
Forecast: Periods of heavy rain. Rainfall amounts may approach warning criteria.
