Need a new goal in 2019? Here is a chance to make a practical difference in the life of a former refugee.
Seeking volunteer driving mentors to help teach learners from a refugee background how to drive. We particularly need female mentors (some of our female learners feel more comfortable learning with another woman). We provide a dual control car, training and driving instructor support. Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
