Severe weather watch for Gisborne
An area of low pressure to the northeast of New Zealand directs moist south to southeasterly flow over the North Island. An associated front is expected to lie slow-moving over Hawkes Bay and Gisborne, bringing significant rain.
Valid: 18 hours from 9:00am Wednesday to 3:00am Thursday
Forecast: Periods of heavy rain. Rainfall amounts may approach warning criteria, especially about the hills and ranges. Thunderstorms possible.
