rubbish dumping
i see in the chronicle that dumping rubbish is becoming a problem for castlecliff residents. i am not surprised when you look at the charges waste management are charging now. in less than a year a fadge of green waste has gone from $4.50 to $9.00. and that a trailer load of green waste is a minimum of $42.00. they are laughing all the way to the bank at our expense. counsel selling the collection of rubbish to a corporate entity was always going to end in disaster for the residents. i would love to check the bank accounts of the counselors who made this recommendation when it was mooted. i am sure they were paid off, as how else could they think it was going to be better for the residents?

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
