Appeal for information on stolen Oamaru car

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Police are seeking the public's help after a car was stolen from Awamoa Park, Oamaru, and left burnt out in the river at Robb's Crossing. The light green Nissan Presea was stolen from the car park some time on the evening of Friday 28 September, and was found in the early hours of the following morning.

Police are aware of several previous incidents that have occurred in the Awamoa car park area, including instances of damage to cars and theft. Police would like to remind anyone attempting to sell their car at this location that they do so at their own risk, and such vehicles may be viewed as an easy target by opportunistic thieves.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area on the evening of Friday 28 September is encouraged to get in touch with Oamaru Police on (03) 433 1400. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
