School Vandalism!
Hi all
Unfortunately again one of the schools I care for has been targeted by drunk people with apparently nothing better to do.
Either late last night or in the early hours of thismorning Hampton Hill School in Tawa had 4 Large classroom windows smashed.
1 of the windows was broken from a thrown white vase, bong or glass alcohol bottle (see photos below). I can't make out exactly what it is as it had no labels but the neck is an interesting shape.
On all four windows the force of the blow shattered glass across the entire room and all through classroom furniture.
The cost of these windows will likely be over $1000 so can't be ignored. this has happened several times this year and can't go on.
Beer and rtd cans were found on site which have been taken by Police for finger printing.
Please if anyone has any information or noticed something strange around Tawa last night contact myself or the police.
These things usually happen in the school holidays which makes me think they may be older college students. If your child came home with cuts or was out with friends drinking locally last night then please ask some questions.
Obviously the schools would love to increase their security options but with costs like this it's hard to afford and I would much prefer their money to be used on the kids, not tracking down undesirables.
Anyway thank you all for any time given to this post, I hope for some news.
Kind regards, Lockie Hawkins

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕
Wellington’s identity is built on its cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.
We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️
We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?
Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.
-

-
42.5% I still indulge at my local cafe
-
11.3% Irrelevant - coffee is not for me
🎉 Riddle me this, legends! 🎉
He/She who makes it, sells it.
He/She who buys it, doesn't use it.
The user doesn't know they are using it.
What is it?
(Shezz from Ngāruawāhia kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Shezz!)
