TAI TAPU SCHOOL GARDEN TOUR - 11 NOVEMBER 2018

Celebrating six beautiful local gardens from historic to modern, native to exotic, full of colour, texture and diversity. The gardens are offered as a self-tour package, with the option to choose the 'Otahuna Garden Tour package'. There are limited tickets for this guided tour of the prestigious historic homestead gardens designed for Sir Heaton Rhodes. An art exhibition at the Tai Tapu Sculpture Garden featuring photographer Emma Bass and painter Holly Zandbergen, along with a permanent sculpture exhibition by NZ sculptors, garden talks and a spring fete will also be attractions .

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
