What better way to be involved in a quintessential Wairarapa event.

Piers Fuller Reporter from News of Wairarapa

Wings over Wairarapa Air Festival is on the look-out for inspirational, energetic, passionate people who want to be a part of the 2019 Air Festival, 2019 marks the 20th anniversary of this Air Festival in the Wairarapa.
Wings Volunteer Manager, Rachael Dell says this is a unique opportunity to be a part of an iconic event and a chance to learn something new, meet like-minded people and be a part of the ‘crew’ that brings the Air Festival to life.
“We are looking for a range of skills – everything from people who like working with the public, to fabulous administrators, organisers and getting- things- done types, labourers, drivers, educators, health professionals, people who have a head for logistics, event management and health and safety.”
“We’re also looking for volunteers who want to inspire young people to learn about aviation, space, engineering, technology and history.”
“There’s no shortage of roles, we’ll match the skills you have to a role you’ll love.”
“Sometimes the work can be demanding, but the rewards are plenty: the team around you, the skies above you humming with WWI, WWII, modern military, helicopters and vintage aircraft. The groundside space teeming with happy people all there for a fun weekend.”
“The Wings over Wairarapa Air Festival currently has a volunteer base of 230, some come from overseas and make the trip to New Zealand specifically to volunteer.”
“All of our volunteers are integral to the Festival’s success. Their contribution is vital for the delivery of a smooth running top notch event of this scale.”
“All volunteers are supported by the Wings team and receive training.”
Anyone interested in volunteering for the 2019 Air Festival can apply online on the Volunteers page at wings.org.nz
