Schooling in Aotea

Jared Nicoll Reporter from Kapi-Mana News

Hi
We've been checking up on where the Ministry of Education is up to with creating a plan to make sure there are enough primary school spaces for kids in and around Aotea. We know it's a growing concern for a lot families, and will continue to be so as Transmission Gully gets up and running.
We're writing an article and we'd like to include the thoughts from people in the area. So what do you think? What's the best solution here? Build more schools? Where? Tighten up zoning to stop kids from outside the area from coming over?

*Please put an NFP with your post if you'd rather your thoughts weren't possibly shared in a news story!*

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
