Buddies are volunteers that spend time with people with a disability in order to support them to gain access to and positive experiences in the community. For example going to the gym, having a coffee, visiting the museum or even doing some volunteering together! Volunteers are matched with people based on similar interests and location. You can commit to anything from a couple of hours a month to a few hours a week.
Avalon is a charitable trust that provides services in the Bay of Plenty to support individuals with a recognised disability. A key component of Avalon’s work is to reduce barriers to inclusion in community for the people we support.
