Cat Rescue Collection at Barrington Mall 21/07/2018 from 9-5pm

Bronwyn Reader from Cat Rescue Christchurch

Hi Everyone.

This is the first time we have had a collection at the Barrington Mall, so hope the lovely people of the surrounding area's will beable to support our charity in the following ways:-

1. We will have collection buckets so if people wish to donate money then they can.  If everyone donated a gold coin, it would be a good collection with monies to cover our very high vet bills.
2.  We will have cat food bins, so if you are shopping at Fresh Choice, you might want to pop in an extra item of kitten food, or kitty litter into your shop,  as opposed to donating monies, and come and put in the food bin.
3.  Come and talk to us about our fundraising ventures we are involved in ie making crafts for our stall, offering to help with our vegan baking for sale in our stall at the Vegan Expo on October 28th of this year, or you could ask us about 'Webfair'.
4. Just come and talk to our volunteers about what we do.  We are cat/ animal lovers and hence love talking about cats in general.

We will be situated (with a table) between the old Paperplus and the lovely ice cream place.

Hope to see you and if you could mention it to all your family and friends.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Addictive Eaters Anonymous

The Team from Addictive Eaters Anonymous - Christchurch

After ten years of depression, my life had hit rock bottom

I remember being ‘different’ around food for most of my life. This included things such as being the person who had two cream buns at morning tea when everyone else had one; eating icing sugar by the spoonful directly from the packet; and being the family member who went into the kitchen after dinner to eat the leftovers. There are numerous other examples – too many to list. I could overeat anything. If I couldn’t get my preferred favourites (e.g. chocolate), I’d be eating the vegetables.
